In his role, Wael leads the Global strategic relationship with SAP, steering transformative initiatives in joint product development, driving WW transformative customer and partners projects, as well as scaling co-selling and go to market impact with our global teams and partners maintaining our market leading position. Previously Wael was the EMEA VP Partner Solutions group, steering the Microsoft partner strategy and sales execution across the EMEA region. With Microsoft’s tradition as a Partner lead company, Wael was responsible for sales execution of Microsoft cloud & AI solutions built and delivered through ISVs, Systems Integrators, Advisory firms as well as cloud & AI services distributed through strategic Channel and Teleco partnerships. Wael Joined Microsoft in July 2017 as the General Manager for Enterprise Middle East and Africa (MEA), where he led the Enterprise transformation and growth strategy and personally drove strategic engagements and partnerships across MEA. Wael also was the General Manager for Microsoft’s Africa Region, where he was leading the strategy investments, initiatives and operations of Microsoft for the African continent - Prior to joining Microsoft, Elkabbany held several leadership positions with BT for 11 years. In 2006, Elkabbany served as Vice President for BT’s Middle East and North Africa region where he defined regional strategy, led operations and managed new market penetration. Earlier in his career, Elkabbany held a number of regional management roles with successful regional and international ICT corporates operating across the Middle East and Africa. Elkabbany also serves as a non-executive board member with several ICT companies across the MEA region. Hailing from Egypt, he holds a B.Sc. in Communication Engineering, and completed his postgraduate studies in corporate governance, international trade and financial planning.
